Gainesville Grocery Stores
While it isn’t the most fun thing to talk about, we all have to eat. Grocery stores are around, but which ones are the best ones to go to in Gainesville, Virginia? You have so many choices and so many different types, that we decided to give you a list of our top grocery store we thought you should give a try.
Okay, this one definitely makes the top of our list of to-visit grocery stores. Wegmans is located at 8297 Stonewall Shops Square, Gainesville, VA 20155 and it is one for the books. From its huge selection of groceries to its eater area, you won’t find anything like it.
This grocery store feels so much different than other typical grocery stores you have probably visited. They went for dark colors instead of the white tiled floor you see so often. As you walk in, you see their huge produce selection. It is almost overwhelming because the stores are so big. You can (and should) head to their bakery department. They have seasonal cookies that are decorated each day and breads that make your mouth water! What is the coolest part of the bakery section is that you can see people making the breads and cakes and pies. They don’t try to hide a thing! You can look over and they are always so friendly and willing to explain what they are making.
Adjacent to the bakery is the meat department. They have the most amazing displays and will give you any cut of deli meat you would normally buy at a grocery store. Near this area is the seafood section and in some Wegmans, you will find what looks like a little restaurant. That’s because it actually is! These aren’t in every store, but they are in a few and they are so neat. You and a few other people can have a wine tasting and food prepared straight from the kitchen and served from one of the master chefs there!
I think what Wegmans is known for the best is their hot and ready foods that you can package up and either eat at home or eat right upstairs in their seating section. These foods are super tasty and you can mix and match because you are only charged on the weight of it all. I will say, this can get a bit pricey because some of those foods can weigh a lot. They have a sub making area (they make them for you) almost like a Subway does. Near that is the pizza place where you can order by the slice or by the pie! You can also either get a fountain drink or tea or a bottled drink. I absolutely love this area because it saves you time having to make your own dinner!
While each Wegmans is set up a little differently, the premise is the same. Great service with some really great foods. If you have recently moved to the area or haven’t tried it yet, definitely stop by the Wegmans in Gainesville, Virginia!
