List of Gainesville Playgrounds for Kids
If you have children, you know how crazy they can get (especially when they are locked up in the house on a rainy day). From tearing up your living room to eating everything in sight in your kitchen, sometimes you need to get away and get them away in order to save the rest of the house. We are giving you some great energy-releasing places right in Gainesville, Virginia that will save your kids and your sanity.
Milla’s Playland
If you have younger kids, this is the place to be. Located at 7669 Limestone Dr #125, Gainesville, VA 20155, this is a warehouse-like play place that has different toys throughout. Definitely geared towards toddler ages children, this facility has little bounce houses and toys and little cars to ride. It has high ratings for cleanliness and friendly staff and seems like a great place to walk in and let the kids run to their favorite station.
Conway Robinson State Forest
You might have kids that are a little bit older and you might not like taking a seat and watching them play. For those who need just as much activity as their kids, you might find yourself checking out the Conway Robinson State Forest located in Gainesville, Virginia. People don’t always know that this place has been around since 1938 and boasts 44 acres of woods, wildlife and trails! This forest was founded because of a Virginian man who was a lawyer and wanted to leave a legacy after he was gone. Conway was best known for arguing 100 cases in front of the Supreme Court (how cool is that!?). You can bring your horses to ride here, but you will need a permit for it.
JNJ Battlequest
Have older kids and don’t feel like braving the bugs? JNJ Battlequest is the place to be. Located at 13525 Wellington Center Cir, Gainesville, VA 20155, this place has it all. From laser tag all the way to paintball! Coming on a busy day? No worries, you can play in the arcade area until it is your turn to go into the laser tag area. They also host birthday parties depending on the size!
Virginia Gateway Splash Fountain
Last, but definitely not least is a local favorite during the summer months. The splash fountains are located in the Promenade at Linton Hall Rd, Gainesville, VA 20155. These are fun for kids, and with chairs and umbrellas a few steps away, it is great to parents too! The best thing about this area is there are restaurants all around it. From pizza to yogurt to coffee- you won’t be going hungry here. The splash pad is only open during the summer and turns on in the morning and turns off as the sun goes down. Kids absolutely love it and it is a great place to get your grocery shopping done, eat and then go play. Right next to the splash pads is a Yobe. Yobe is a frozen yogurt place where you can choose your flavor and then choose your toppings. You can pay and take it all back out and eat at the sitting area adjacent to the splash pads. This is definitely a life saver in the summer if you don’t have an area pool you belong to!
